Ranked number 49 as the largest urban campus district in the United States, Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) has already produced more than 74, 000 students to face the challenges that are awaiting beyond the four walls of the academe. This association has been equipping the present generation to become the future leaders of an influential country. MNPS is currently administering 71 primary institutions, 36 middle institutions and 15 secondary institutions.

The origin of Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) actually emerged on dissimilar dates but has been developed at both ends. It was due to the 1963 act stating the consolidation of the city and Davidson County that signaled the conception of MNPS. Of all the campuses within their territorial

jurisdictions, Robertson Academy is regarded to be the oldest where its roots can be traced back to April 17, 1806 when the American Congress passed a bill. Since that period, the institution continued to serve its purpose.

By 1821, the city entertained ideas of offering education no longer as a private entity. In that same year, the first ever campus of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) opened in September. However, the institution did not last for long since the approach thought of was still regarded novel at that stage. After three decades, MNPS once again sought the possibility of venturing into establishing a civic community in the city.

Due to the pursuit, directors of the Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) assigned an esteemed principal by the name of Alfred Hume to study the plan in other areas in the Americas and come back with a report that will explain how the adopted practices can be employed in the city. Not long after, a campus in honor

of him started operations in February 26 of 1855. The building was very simple. In fact, it was only three- stories tall constructed out of brick and with only twelve teachers accommodating only pure graders. At this juncture, the edifice still stands but has expanded with now 874 pupils.

Today, the Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) has already brainstormed for 2014. They explain that as travelers utilize a map to reach their destination, they also have their own which is the Strategic Plan in order to accomplish the goals of the entire association. Not only with those working for MNPS but importantly, the children whose parents have trusted their competence in guiding their offspring to not only learn subject matters but mold them as better American citizens for the world.
