Nashville’s tourism industry has spoken with one voice when it comes to bringing in more and more visitors every year. Annually, thousands of visitors travel to the city for a taste of the “Music City” life. Although a lot of locals believed that Nashville tourism has never recovered when it closed Opryland Themepark in 1997, Nashville tourism has still continuously grown during the past years.

Opryland Themepark, most famously known as simply Opryland, was marked as the “Home of American Music”. The park featured a huge number of “musical shows” together with usual park rides such as carousels, roller coasters, and similar others. The park lured almost 2.5 million visitors annually during late 1980’s, which greatly contributed to Nashville tourism.

Most locals believe that adding another theme park the soonest possible time, would bring back the glamour of the good old “Opryland” tourism days. Still others deem that certain recreation areas should be added such as baseball parks, water parks, aquariums, and other large tourist attractions.

According to the general manager of “Nashville Marriot”, a “destination attraction” would draw leisure travelers to the city, and other attractions can provide visitors with various things to do and entice them to

have longer stays in the city.

Nashville tourism is perhaps largely dependent on its being well-known as the “Music City USA”. Its tourism economy is greatly owed to this popularity where most visitors annually take the quest for experiencing the city. Other famous name given to the city include “Athens of the South” for its Parthenon replica attraction, “Nashvegas” for the city’s very affluent and colorful nightlife, “Guitar Town” a new nickname given to the city because of its total guitarists, and various more nicknames.

Nashville tourism is also greatly supported by its numerous tours and beautiful sightseeing spots, as well as

various hotels that cater to the different tastes and budgets of every traveler. The first-rate museums of the city, also add spice to visitor’s “must see” list. It’s glamorous and glitzy nightlife in “The District” adjoins to every guest’s enjoyable vacation.

To top it all, the city boasts of its simply charming “small-town” warmth with an urban sophistication twist. It beautiful scenery of rolling hills, lakes and rivers, as well as lush open spaces make it a simple yet “rocking” tourist destination.

City officials of Nashville believe that continuing on to create more tourist attractions, and creating a “cohesive marketing plan”, will greatly improve Nashville tourism.
