The U.S.’s second most heavily populated city, Nashville, is the capital of the state of Tennessee and is a foremost hub for music, transportation, health care, and publishing industries. The city can be found in the state’s north-central portion, on Cumberland River in Davidson County.

More popularly known as “Music City USA”, Nashville is the Mecca of country music -with Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, Dolly Parton, and the 1975 Oscar winning film Nashville by Robert Altman. The city’s “two-billion-a-year” industry is where nameless musicians can turn into overnight sensations, and where the fortunes of music publishing are made.

Most first-time visitors to the place are surprised to find a trendy American city with glamorous skyscrapers and a vigorous financial community that has embraced new commerce, and other upshots of its music industry.

Considered as the upper South’s booming city, Nashville has increasingly become a popular tourist place, with its small-town warm ambiance

Nashville’s roots go a long way back, when it was first the home of deer and bison that lured hunters to settle in the area. Today, Nashville is strategically situated at the junction of three main interstate systems, and is the hub of national transportation crossroads. Nashville’s vitality is symbolized in its downtown area, where the once deserted warehouses now “hum” with an entertainment area called “The

District”. The city’s downtown is continuingly undergoing major changes; the new Schermerhorn Symphony Center is a modern versatile convention center and music hall, while the $100 million expansion in the “Division Street” will turn an old Nashville area into trendy, city loft-style homes, retail space, residential units, and a twelve-storey glass-encased tower.

Nashville has blossomed like a lively flower in the past years, and to date has become a much thriving and vibrant city that meets the demands of a great getaway for weekend trips or longer stays. So whether evading the “brutal” northern winters, or simply getting away from the hectic life of Los Angeles or New York for a more easy-going ambiance, Nashville is a great place to visit.
